Lindsey and Nick offered marriage advice in honor of their first anniversary. It turns out this couple enjoys giving advice. “I think we’re good at it,” Lindsey said. Nick stood by her side, nodding yes. So they’ve agreed to offer words of wisdom from time to time.
Dear Lindsey and Nick:
I’ve been married for a while now, but I can’t think of anything special to do for my sweatheart this Valentine’s Day. Do you have any suggestions? Please hurry and answer my question so I don’t get in trouble with the wife. Thanks. ~Marvin W., Tampa, Florida
Nick: Buy flowers.
Lindsey: I think she would like tulips and candy and a romantic dinner for two.
Nick: Yeah. You should do a good romantic night. Like dancing to some soothing, sweet music. And you should focus just on each other, ignore everything else going on in the world. And no T.V. (I should take my own advice, Nick added.)
Lindsey: If you aren’t good at cooking or you’re tired of cooking, you could take a break and make a reservation at a fancy restaurant like Red Robin, Olive Garden or Izzy’s. Or at that place where you throw peanuts on the floor.
Nick: The Roadhouse? That’s a good place.
Lindsey: Yes, The Roadhouse.
Nick: Buy a sweet card that will make her cry. If you can’t afford a card, make a homemade one. That might even be better because if you make it yourself, she will know it was made with love.
Lindsey: I agree. Homemade cards are the best kind because the words come from your heart.
